The Map Isn't Wrong, But You're Forgetting Something

840 view andy traub
Driving east on 840. Not the fastest route.

I use the Waze driving app every time I drive. By default, it gives you one route and starts navigating. What most users don’t know is that Waze offers more than one route. You have to hit one more button to see them. Where I live, the other routes are always prettier.

Waze’s default filter is speed. That’s not my default filter.

Tools can help, but we choose what’s easiest to our detriment. (highlight to share)

It’s ok to want a map, but if your only filter is “get there fastest” you’re missing out on a lot. Use tools and courses, but filter the directions.

I choose the prettiest route.

What’s your filter? Are you applying it?

2016 Reader Survey Results & The Changes I'm Making

A few weeks ago I asked for feedback from my audience. You can still complete the survey here if you’d like to contribute your thoughts. I read every single submission.

298 people just like you completed the survey I sent out a few weeks ago.

Here’s what I’m doing with the information and the detailed results…

The changes b/c of what you said

You told me you wanted to know how to consistently create more content and a new book for the Early To Rise Series. So here’s what’s coming…

When you click on the links below you’ll find a five-question survey and get the bonus described below the link.

Create More Content System

BONUS: When you fill out the survey above you’ll get 50% off the program when it launches in June.

Early To Rise For Dads

Complete the survey and you’ll get a free digital copy of ETR for Dads when it’s released later this summer.

Results of the big survey:

Income

  • The largest % of my audience (35%) makes over $100K a year
  • The second largest group makes 60-100K a year (34.2%)
These numbers show me that people have high standards for what they buy b/c they’re used to buying nice things.
 Income

Where Your Pain Is

The largest areas of struggle are lacking application of what you already know (21.7%) and not enough clarity on what to do next (17%). Not enough energy (15.9%) is a close third.

My future courses will always include personal coaching options because you don’t want another digital product, you want results. Coaching helps you get those results. That’s why I’m creating the Creating More Content System to help you gain clarity and apply what you already know.

Problem

Vocation

Most of you are entrepreneurs but the largest percentage are solopreneurs, like myself. Solopreneurs (37.8) and entrepreneurs (24.8) means 62% of you are business owners.
Title

What problem do you want solved?

Creating content consistently was the number one problem (52%) and that’s why I’ve been working on my Create More Content system for the last three weeks. Part of the system is how to use digital tools (45% of you wanted to learn more about that) so I’ll help solve that pain point as well.
Want to create

How do you want to learn?

75% of you want to learn through audio. Guess what I don’t create enough of? AUDIO. That’s changing. I’ll be creating new episodes of the Take Permission Podcast so if you’d like to subscribe click on that link.

I’ll also continue to build in video tutorials for my products and even on my Facebook page
Media type

 Final Thoughts:

  • Grateful – I’m grateful and humbled by the feedback I received from all of you. You took a lot of time to fill out that survey and I’m grateful for your contribution.
  • Focused –  I’m committed and focused on creating content that you want so stay tuned for more a lot more content (free and paid).
  • Availability –  There are a lot of ways for you to reach me so if there’s anything you need hit me up in these ways.

Starting Something New; Why You Should Ship Scared

Over seven years ago I quit my last “job” and started Take Permission Media Network. It wasn’t called that yet but that’s what it became. Now I’m starting something new.

If you have 90 seconds to spare I’d appreciate you watching the video below to learn what I’m starting.

Starting Something New

I’m scared but I’m shipping anyway. If we wait until we’re not scared we’ll never ship.

“You can’t read that here.”
Our friend’s 3rd grade daughter brought her Bible to school last week to read it during their designated reading time. Applause to the teacher for building in some time for kids to read books they actually want to read. Far too many kids leave school hating books instead of being hungry for more of them. On this particular day the teacher was gone and there was a substitute teacher. They made a mistake.

It’s not about religious liberty
She told my friend’s daughter that she couldn’t read her Bible at school. My friend’s daughter complied but when she returned home she told her mom what had happened. She was hurt, who wouldn’t? Her choice had been squelched. This isn’t a rant about religious liberty. 99.9% of the people reading these sentences agree that the substitute teacher was completely out of line in terms of religious liberty. The larger issue is the fear of ideas.
