Guess who’s not the smartest person in the world. Me.
This fancy little machine that I’m writing this blog post on has an app you can download (for free) that will allow you to post content to your wordpress blog(s) with ease. I spent many hours today being frustrated by my inability to post a picture to my wordpress blog after I took a picture with my phone. Tonight I mentioned it to my friend Stephen Cross of Rhode Island who’s attending the Free Agent Academy event with me and he said. “Isn’t there a WordPress app for that?”
The answer is yes. I had the WordPress app on my ipod touch but didn’t find it to be very helpful b/c I never hooked a keyboard up to the touch and didn’t find composing long messages on it to be very enjoyable. So here I am, using the WordPress app (which has been optimized for the iPad so it’s not just an iphone app that’s been super sized). The interface is simple, easy to use and best of all I can include pictures from my ipad in my posts (my original gripe w/ my ipad today).
The lesson learned here is that Apple does make things more difficult in some ways b/c you often have to have an application that THEY have approved before you can get certain levels of functionality out of the device. The good news is that those apps almost always work and that b/c the hardware is so solid using the apps is an enjoyable experience. So thanks to Stephen Cross, my fellow GSPN plus and (Free Agent Academy member for being smarter than I am.
And just because I can, I’m including a picture in this post. You can do that in the WordPress app for the iPad for those of you who didn’t know that (like me 20 minutes ago).
