Email Strategy: How to Track Webinar Attendees and Current Customers

If you have a business you should have an email list. Most of us know this but still struggle with basic strategy for our list.

In the video below I share a simple email strategy for tagging, which is simply adding a label to a member of your email list. The power of tagging kicks in when you can add more than one tag or target messages to members depending on their existing tags.

You can implement this strategy if your email service uses tags. The email service I recommend is ConvertKit(affiliate link).

Watch the video below to learn some practical email strategy for tagging email subscribers.

Three steps to making digital products people will buy

There is no secret to converting visitors to your web site into customers who buy your digital products. There is no secret because it’s really simple and after reading this post you’ll know how to do it.

In his book The $100 Startup, Chris Guillebeau lays out simple steps to take when creating products that people will buy. The key to selling is getting in front of your customer with the solution to their problem. Their email address will help you find out what they need and then get in front of them with the solution that you created. You need to ask people what their pain is. If you can find out what their pain is then you can create the solution and charge for it. Using Google Forms I’ve been able to find out exactly what my readers’ frustrations are with their email inboxes. They even gave me a ton of marriage advice. This information is exactly what people want help with and now I can go about offering them a solution.

Here are three steps to making stuff people will buy:

1. Offer free content in the field that you plan on producing a related product for. If you’re writing a book about marriage then give free marriage advice.
2. Gather your visitor’s email addresses. I choose to use a combination of Optin Skin [affiliate link] and Mailchimp [affiliate link] to collect email addresses.
3. Ask your subscribers about the specific area you want to create content for. My sales coach Pierce Marrs tells me all the time, “If you ask the right questions people will tell you exactly how to they want to buy.” People want solutions and if you ask enough questions you find out their pain and can offer a solution.

Give great content, collect email addresses and ask great questions and you’ll make products your readers want to buy.

How do I start a podcast?

Many of my readers and listeners have asked me how they can start their own podcast. I’m considering creating something that will help them create and develop a successful podcast. In addition to the technical setup of podcasting (that’s the easy part) it’s very important to know how to get great guests, how to conduct great interviews, how to organize your show preparation and what tools to use when collaborating with a cohost.

If you’re interested in starting your own podcast someday and you’d like to stay updated on what I’m working on then answer these five questions. It would be awesome if you’d share this form with others on Facebook or Twitter using the links to the left or below this post.

Thanks,
Andy

3 essential elements of selling a product on-line

1. Discover a need.
2. Find other people to help you create something that fills that need.
3. Put it on-line with a “Buy” button.

Old Cash Register by http://www.sxc.hu/profile/bakuninja

You were probably expecting a recommendation on a ecommerce solution or video hosting service for your screencasts. The problem with worrying about those parts of the product is that they don’t really matter. Maybe they matter 5%.

What people want are their needs met and their desires fulfilled. I recently discovered a need regarding a program I used every single day on my mobile device, laptop and web. I asked for someone to help me and found the perfect person. Now we’re putting it on-line (that’ll take about 30 days). Find a need, find help, find a way to deliver it. As long as people have needs you have an opportunity to create something that help them. Whether they pay for it is up to you but don’t overcomplicate it. Don’t think you have any excuses. We don’t.

What need to you see?
Who are you going to ask to help?
When are you going to put it on-line?
