Entrepreneur and all around great guy Chris Guillebeau has created a book that every person who wants to love their work needs to read. Filled with practical advice on starting a “micro-business”, it’s in my top 10 business books now. Listen to the episode to hear how you can get a free copy!

Doing something is not your default. Doing nothing is your default. Until something is a habit it’s part of a daily resistance. We habitually get in the shower after we wake up. We habitually check our email first when sitting in front of our computer. We habitually say, “I love you.” as we head out the door on our way to work for the day (at least we should). Very, very few people have a habit of creating. There is a resistance that is real and alive that speaks to us when we think about giving birth to an idea or words or things. Most of the time that resistance wins. Doing something is not our default.

My favorite blogs discuss more than one topic.
They are a mix of encouragement, technology tips and insights, leadership and a strong leaning towards empowered thinking. Mitch Joel, Seth Godin and Michael Hyatt are three examples that come to mind. They write about a variety of topics because they are passionate about a variety of topics. It’s never good when you try to hold back your passions. When you hold your passions inside they’re tear you up from the inside out trying to escape. Your God given passions belong in the world and when you try to keep them inside they get pissed. They haunt you by causing internal turmoil.
